Shri Shirdi Sai Anthalaya Charitable Trust is an NGO that functions as a rehabilitation center for identified underprivileged orphaned children by providing them with the basic necessities as aligned with the basic necessities identified by International Labor Organisation - food, shelter, clothing, sanitation, education and healthcare. The institution supports 22 children of which we were able to work with 16 children who are aged between 5-15. The aim of my work was to assisting the children in skill based and information based modules which we had developed to help identify their interest areas and also instill awareness about resourceful concepts. The skill based sessions consisted of dance, sketching and any other forms of art to help them express themselves creatively. The information based sessions included education on environment, first aid, cybersafety and more which could add onto their awareness of the topic to help them in real life situations. It was an enriching experience as I could express my servitude in the setting and it also added onto to my experience as a growing professional in handling technicalities and responsibilities of working with a community partner.

Letters to Strangers provided an opportunity to be creative and strategic simultaneously. Monthly chapter activities required me to take up the role of a content creator and graphic designer making cards and letters for old-age homes, hospitals, and other institutions. Meanwhile developing ideas to expand the activities online by promoting our activities and collaborating with L2S activities of other branches.

India

I worked as an HR intern hiring for various departments under Aashman Foundation. I was also promoted by the end of my 3-month tenure. Through the internship, I learned about the strategy, planning and communication skills required in the industry to be an HR professional.

The internship included working in different areas of Environment, Social Work, Human Resources, Marketing, and Fundraising. The activities included community activities that increased social awareness and involvement.
