As India is opening its doors to the world economies, I want to be part of this urban development and contribute in my own way to the process of achieving the best amicable results. I am interested in projects which are rooted in the concerns and aspirations of the people, understanding the complex Urban Systems, and find pathways to more sustainable futures.I like the challenge that the field of Architecture and Urban Design draw together the many strands of placemaking, environmental stewardship, social fairness and economic feasibility in the creation of places. My professional work has largely emanated from my interest in urban research. I have had the opportunity to work on several projects which helped me develop a solid background in the area of people-centric design. At ADEI, I got an opportunity to work on a project to draft a management and conservation plan for heritage cities. This involved everything from documentation, analysis, and drafting of a framework and to a conservation vision plan for the place. Building on the work done at ADEI and my experiences at CEPT, my portfolio expanded in my last research position at Everyday City labs. I was one of the core research project members involved in a study of the everyday social, economical, religious practices of the people in Bengaluru. This rigorous study was used to understand the various aspects of Ashwath katte which lead to the creation of social networks. The process also involved developing an urban design analytical framework that can be used to design the city in a better way. A part of the study also helped in creating a system that can be used to generate a program for autonomous vehicles. I have also continued with my interest in teaching in the last few years parallelly working on independent research projects.I am continuously seeking out new career opportunities.
