These are new and exciting times as FieldCore, as our parent company, GE Vernova separated from GE and became its own publicly listed entity in April 2024.With up to 12,000 employees in over 80 countries, FieldCore has always focused on safe and efficient delivery.And as Lead Solutions Architect, this gives me a great opportunity to explore new and innovative solutions that can help our large and diverse field services workforce, be it digitization of workflows, predicting accidents using AI/ML tools like AWS SageMaker, machine learning based data quality refinements, or enhanced user experience.And it lets me work with both boutique and very large vendors with their differing strengths and styles.My previous role as Applications Development Manager for Granite Services provided me the perfect opportunity to review our complex applications landscape, study user needs and issues and explore a wide range of solutions including:Oracle EBS, Oracle RDBMS, Ultipro HR, SQL Server, Qlikview, Noetix, Kofax, Track-It, Adobe, SalesForce and several proprietary and 'Home Grown' technologies.With 25 years of experience in the Industry, I have a keen interest not only in developing solutions, but also in putting myself in my customers' shoes and understanding how they perceive those solutions.If I had to put what I've learnt over my career into two short sentences, they would be: * Bad processes and bad data cast very long shadows * A simple and elegant solution beats a 'Hi Tech' and feature packed one any day!
