GoPowerEV was launched to provide an affordable, hassle-free EV charging solution for property owners (multi-dwelling units) and residents. Current single-family home based EV charging products don't scale for large capacity parking structures or event locations - neither from equipment costs nor use of the electricity perspective. GoPowerEV system uses proprietary algorithm to auto balance the charging load to meet the resident expectations while keeping the overall power utilization reasonably low.

A non-profit, Project Notebook foundation was formed to help the Cancer community (patients, oncology staff, researchers, industry) in an effort to improve, often brutal and long treatments (Chemo, Radiation, Monoclonal Antibody therapies) while managing the side effects efficiently, resulting in targeted treatment outcomes for each patient and reduced costs/efforts for the oncology staff.

Kodi Health is a one-stop-shop that streamlines access to psychotherapy, psychoeducation, community support, and biomarker tracking with personalized insights and predictive intervention to improve outcomes and avoid future relapse and hospitalization. Currently guiding the founders through ideation, while helping them develop the IP (bipolar trigger prediction using AI/ML).

Mila is an AI-powered provider assistant that uses behavior change techniques, empathy, and nudges to engage and guide patients in their care journey before and following visits. Patients can ask Mila questions and get clinically validated care instructions and educational resources when they need them—without additional provider involvement.

Taking a little break from full-time work to help young as well as established companies in the areas of technology strategy, logical roadmap building, software due diligence, IP mining & strategy and understanding and using tech trends to set/adjust long term horizons.

The Healthtech team in J&J was formed to experiment with few promising concepts in digital health. Understanding the regulated and compliance driven environment, pitched to invest in "test-and-learn" tooling that allowed J&J to rapidly iterate on multiple product ideas in parallel, to find that illusive product-market-fit. Few of the products launched using it include a) data driven chronic disease management, b) game theory based clinical trial tool to determine the validity, c) a rinse-and-repeat approach/tooling to commercialize proprietary deep learning algorithms to speed up drug development, d) digital therapeutic companions using behavioral science to crack the medical adherence puzzle.

Took a couple of years of perseverance to nail down the product portfolio and the business model but I am excited to take on the challenge of transforming the eight year old startup into a world’s first supply chain Platform business. Portfolio of tools will allow partners/ developers to build business solutions offering economic opportunity to the members of the Tradeshift network.

Tradeshift product portfolio includes financial instruments of payment processing using virtual card tokens in the b2b and b2c scenarios. Built the team and launched Tradeshift Go, alongwith Hyperledger and other emerging Blockchain efforts.

Brought in to drive the Consumer market pivot and to establish a vertical eng team (hardware, firmware, software - embedded, mobile and cloud) in San Francisco, to develop various forms of iOT devices contributing to smarter homes. End result was various hardware/software concepts/prototypes of devices with emphasis on high quality ID, unique connected behavior while launching company's flagship product, an “interaction device” (full home remote), which won critical acclaims from WIRED and c|net.Recruited also to develop the vision and strategy behind Savant iOT data platform, responsible for making homes “self-driving”. Built the team from ground up and designed/launched Savant data Cloud giving Savant a competitive edge. Capabilities included remote accessibility, data ingress infrastructure, 3rd party integration plumbing and ML classifiers to generate actionable control signals.

Took the lead in driving the team contribute to improving Yahoo’s video streaming infrastructure (ads, music, news, etc.) while waiting for Live strategy to form. Strongly pushed for the opportunity to revive and rebrand Yahoo’s Live! Property using EvntLive experience combined with the content from LiveNation. Countless product pitches later, successfully executed Yahoo Live! re-do efforts with a LiveNation 365 partnership. Yahoo launched rebranded web service shortly after I left (September 2014).

EvntLive was set out to alter the methods that fans engage with live music online, by creating an interactive virtual venue. It was concerned about scaling HD video infrastructure. After acquisition closed, took on multiple roles - head of engineering, content partnerships, music studio contracts and tools/infrastructure development for concert venues. The online venue opened doors as beta in April 2013 and streamed 72 concerts. At its peak, we were streaming in 100+ countries & 100K+ viewers.

Around late 2011, all trends were indicating spiraling growth of “connected” mobile apps. Most app developers were not poised to design scalable server/cloud infrastructure needed by those apps. Having nearly perfected the art of headless data services in Palm (WebOS) and then in B&N (NOOK), I founded Nubo9 to develop tooling for mobile app developers. We built a unique version of PaaS which was to be used to develop and operate mobile backends, capable of supporting 10s of millions of users/devices as well as connected "things", without breaking the bank.While AWS and Google Cloud provided two extreme PaaS options, a large number of startups (Stackmob, Parse, etc.) focused on simplistic app developers. Nubo9 was looking for a success-disaster candidate as a perfect case-study to prove the concept. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a business model for such PaaS platforms in 2011. Having validated the concept, I focused on developing a sales/distribution channel but as the market started to cool down, I found a partner/acquirer who would benefit from such software platform to build use-cases that warranted scalability peaks/valleys. Nubo9 was acquired by EvntLive in June of 2012.

Recognizing the need for headless data services, Nook brought me in to develop strategy/roadmap and execute on a SaaS service that would go on to power all future generations of NOOK devices. The generic nature of the cloud services and SDK developed for internal engineering use became instrumental in expanding the content business from eBooks to all forms highly curated content (magazines, newspapers, textbooks, movies, etc.) as well as raising revenue from $50 Million to ~$2B within record 2 years.Amongst other responsibilities, owned the intellectual property development and M&A assessments as a part of the process to build defensible IP portfolio. Many of the acquisitions would go on to form the components of ReadOS, an abstract representation of software on the devices and in the cloud, designed to make any kind of reading experience come to reality.

Pitched a new business model to execs for a connected OS, negotiated funding to prove the concept and hand-picked a team to successfully deliver first of its kind WebOS SaaS service, powering smartphones such as Palm Pre and Pixi. Responsible for software engineering, SaaS operations and Quality for the webOS Cloud services serving over tens of thousands of mobile transactions per second in 24x7 timescale in multiple continents. Software infrastructure included Mobile APIs, custom developed Platform abstraction (PaaS) and infrastructure abstraction (IaaS), monitoring framework and computing virtualization techniques. Established and operated 24x7 NOC and Technical Support center to provide escalation path to carriers as well as to meet certification needs. Also owned P&L for the cloud business and built self-sustaining organization that drove its own balance sheet. Excelled in many phases of acquisitions: selecting, evaluating, negotiating, buying, and then integrating. Developed portfolio of Intellectual Property.

Brought on to prototype/develop mobile solutions using PalmOS devices aimed at creating a portfolio of enterprise apps. General theme was to give away software suite and custom developed device management software with the purchase of large number of devices by a company. Program known as Palm@Enterprise, included native integration into various commercial IT backoffice software from likes of SAP (expense reporting), Siebel (support) and Peoplesoft (directory).Owned, architectural ownership of software decisions, PalmOS app development, custom web apps for management of devices/apps as well as evangelism of using mobile devices in the corporate environment. CISCO, AMD and few notable companies not only bulk purchased tens of thousands of devices from Palm but also relied on the advise related to defining mobile strategies for their workforce.

Strategic planning and execution of number of software engineering efforts including integration of TIBCO's Rendezvous protocol (agent) in 3Com's network adapter interface using embedded approach, integration of TIBCO's messaging stack into manufacturing line backoffice software (SAP) for collection and propagation of fault events to accurately and timely determine the line yield and hence affect future planning.Ownership of technical roadmap for internally developed software by 3Com and evangelism of TIBCO's messaging products within 3Com to various engineering teams.

Member of Tools & Technology Integration Team with wide range of responsibilities from developing prototypes, porting, educating engineers on new technologies, evangelism of Apple's application development techniques and methods.Development duties for Apple Message Protocol (AMP), proprietary messaging and reliable publish/subscribe protocol (at times when publish/subscribe paradigm didn’t really exist) optimized around large size message movements between wide variety of hosts/platforms/OS flavors.

Design/Development responsibility of home-grown software to be used by chemical engineers operating as 3rd level support for medical diagnostics failure analysis using Progress DB, embedded C and X-Windows running on minicomputers and dumb terminalsResponsibilities included Strategic Consulting, including business plan to productize the exploration effort for vertical market.

Ownership of design/development of first ever workers compensation multi-claim liability management software suite.Team lead for large scale actuarial analysis engine, which used distributed locations to process data in near-real-time and aggregated in central location for deciding daily insurance rates on active scale. Massive computational hardware was deployed in 22 locations in the days when WAN was only beginning to emerge and real-time communication was a challenge.
