At Jewish Care Bruce is currently the Program Manager for the Better Together Transformation Program – a suite of technology and process improvement initiates across Jewish Care including the development of custom PMO/Project Management delivery framework. He is also managing the automation of the rostering of 600 staff across three Residential Aged Care centres utilising the Human Force application. Bruce’s Project Manager delivery at Jewish Care includes: The migration of the Jewish Care St. Kilda Rd site hand-set Telephony system for 200 staff, three Call Centres and a five floor Aged Care facility from Telstra to BlueApache while implementing the IPFX telephony product and then the subsequent upgrade of the IPFX software to a cloud-based solution. Implemented the Procura health care Procura Mobility app that replaced manual processes and associated administration functions for 300 workers who support the elderly and disability Jewish Care home care-based communities. Migration of the MYOB PayGlobal application to the Cloud. Migration of SharePoint to the Cloud. Creation and establishment of an internal Project Management course to upskill Business Analysts to become Project Managers. Advisor on the Digital Strategy Steering Committee that is responsible for implementing over 40 strategic initiatives to lift technology within Jewish Care.

At the NAB Bruce was the PMO Manager for the NAB Business and Private Bank Division managing a team of 3 resources. The Business and Private Bank Division focussed on delivering key IT solutions in an Agile environment for NAB customer fronting staff and their customers and actioning APRA compliance requirements. The contract was cut-short as a result of a major NAB restructure.

At the Uniting Church Australia Bruce worked as the Risk & Insurance Team Project Manager. In this role Bruce managed key IT projects for the Risk & Insurance team. The projects involved data migration to the Uniting Church Microsoft Dynamics 365 Data Warehouse and data modelling to enable insurance premiums to be distributed across Uniting Church entities (schools, congregations, aged care and community services). Bruce was also responsible for Business Continuity Planning, and Crisis Management Planning and Risk & Insurance Programme PMO reporting (claims, financials, insurance, risk).

Bruce was the PMO Manager for the Trans-Tasman Transactive Programme of Work from 2011 to 2015. Bruce directly managed a PMO team of 9 resources and was responsible for the day to day operations of the PMO team. Some key outcomes of this role driven by Bruce have been to re-structure the PMO team to increase productivity, implement new tools and processes, absorb the duties and resources of another ANZ PMO team and create and operationalize an India based PMO team to further support an enhanced Transaction Banking programme of work. He then worked for 11 months as the Reporting Manager for the ANZ Singapore Technology Risk Management Uplift Programme (Monetary Authority of Singapore Compliance Programme of 92 projects).

Bruce was Interdependency Lead at Australia Post for the $22M Address Replatform project - a major Transformation project which will consolidate seven applications and five databases related to addressing and mail delivery systems into one comprehensive system. Implementation of this project will have a major impact on Australia Post delivery and non-delivery operations. Bruce’s role was to manage the impact of the Address Replatform project on IT systems not in scope for consolidation and to co-ordinate internal change for the Address Replatform project.

Global Program Office Manager responsible for the reporting, tracking and compliance of a US $114M programme of 225 active initiatives/projects, 100 pipeline projects, 169 project managers and 6 Project Offices.

Bruce started at BHP Billiton as the Program Manager for the enhancement and web enablement of a comprehensive health and safety management system, called First Priority, for BHP Billiton’s eBusiness and Health, Safety and Environment groups. In this role Bruce also assisted with the establishment of a Joint Venture to develop and market the First Priority application in which BHP Billiton had a 25% holding. Bruce then took on the role as Project Director (through Equant) for the recovery of the Global WAN migration project (AUS $50M) that BHP Billiton had contracted Equant to deliver. The project involved installation of Equant WAN infrastructure at global BHP Billiton mining sites and the subsequent migration of network traffic from the exiting BHP Billiton infrastructure to Equant’s IPVPN managed service infrastructure.

At Scape (a Village Roadshow company) Bruce was the Program Manager for the development of the SCAPE Customer Relationship Management system and upgrade to related systems (including the datawarehouse and Call Centre).

Bruce started at Telstra as the Project Manager for the major upgrade to the e-mail service called Easymail (product to utilise e-mail without the need of subscribing to an ISP). The Easymail application had 250,000 registered users. Easymail was a $14M project. Bruce was then asked to be the Project Manager for a new internet application called Web Notes which gave Telstra customers, who were mobile telephone users, the functionality to send SMS messages from a web page on the internet to a mobile telephone. The project included the integration of WebNotes into Telstra billing. With success in these roles, Bruce became the Deployment Manager responsible for deployment activities involving infrastructure, system software and application development work being migrated to the new (at the time) telstra.com web site (AUS $20M programme).

Bruce was the Managing Partner, Project Office where he took on the role of establishing and managing the Professional Services’ Project Office which supported the activities of 120 NCR IT consultants. A NCR global restructure to a new industry based Business Unit structure then saw Bruce take on two programme management roles. The first role was as the Program Manager responsible for establishing the PMO and programme management infrastructure for Retail projects across the Asia Pacific Region to augment the NCR move to the new Business Unit structure. Bruce then undertook the role as Program Manager for managing the recovery of a “project in trouble” for the development and implementation of a campaign management system for the National Bank utilising a Data Warehouse that automatically produced marketing triggers in response to changes in customer banking behaviour.
