Consultancy works on financial evaluations of project investments, strategy, risk analysis

- As one of the directors of this new start up organization focusing on conducting feasibility studies of project investments in the different industrial sectors and valuation of companies for merger and acquisition, he spearheads the function of preparing feasibility studies and valuation reports involving market, financial, risk and economic analyses.- The organization is also working in the domain of project finance by determining the optimal capital structure for an investment and then arranging the necessary equity and debt.

Working as Chief of Regional Office in Guwahati, he undertook the following works pertaining to strategic planning and project evaluation.- He had prepared winning tender proposals and bids taking into account the cost elements in accordance with the schedules and budgetary considerations.- Had undertaken feasibility studies of company’s investments including capital budgeting decisions in the region.- Had conducted appraisal of company’s performances in the region including that of supply chain management on the basis of perspectives enshrined in the Balance Scorecard.- Conducted Market Analysis on regular basis to formulate the the Revenue Target- Prepared the Marketing Plan to achieve annual Budget

The major works relating to corporate planning and project finance are as follows. Corporate Planning & Project Finance: Successfully prepared the vision statement & strategic plan that focus on growth by moving up the value chain of APL’s existing products.- Identified several projects for investment and developed complex financial models to forecast cash flows & calculate NPV, IRR in various scenarios incorporating the different risk factors. - Efficiently analyzed the feasibility for  Making an investment in the energy sector by Assam Petrochemicals Ltd. (APL) in PPP mode.  Setting up an integrated petrochemical complex in the new scenario of procuring Natural Gas at market prices in PPP mode. - Entrusted with the additional responsibility of raising project finance of USD 230 millions for company’s new projects. Project Risk Management:• Has identified and analyzed the risk variables that show high correlation with NPV and IRR of the projects mentioned above and has drawn risk response strategies to monitor and control risks. Process Reengineering & New Business Model: It was decided to appoint a conversion agent to run a plant in Public Private Participation model in West Bengal to produce a value-added product from the raw material to be supplied by APL from its plant in Assam instead of producing the value-added product in its plant in Assam and supplying to the local market from there. The feasibility study of the above process reengineering has been made by him with a complex financial model developed for the purpose.

Worked in SNC Lavalin, Canada as a consultant on a hydroelectric project proposed to be implemented in Malaysia. The mandate for the project included developing financial and economic models and conducting a detailed market, financial, risk & economic analysis of the hydroelectric project. The assignment was completed within the stipulated period of time. In risk analysis, a risk assessment scheme was drawn to identify & prioritize risks and then risk control measures were formulated to mitigate risks, plan for emergencies and measure and control risks.
