He has a passion for delivering value to business/clients (with his principle of Customer first), crafting business strategy, creating a learning organization & participating in learning interventions across functional, cross-functional & leadership trainings, investing in talent and seamless operational execution. Over the years he has developed strong acumen to understand cross functional dimensions and ability to translate them into quantitative and qualitative KPIs for business. Bhaskar has experience in India & International Markets, he has spent over a decade in the Media & Entertainment industry notably as Deputy CFO for WPP Africa. In role of Deputy CFO (WPP Africa: Listed Co.) spanning 12 group companies and 6 countries and market spanning 25 countries in the African continent with annual billings of USD 150 Million, he oversaw a complete reframe/transformation and protection of shareholder value despite some very challenging external operating conditions- slow GDP growth/inflation, high cost of operations & financing, sector at crossroads of technological disruption requiring investment. The business achieved a successful turnaround - growth in digital business through investment in Joint-ventures, M&A , creation of integrated marketing & communication company for competitive advantage, cost optimization, organizational restructuring, market expansion & set-up of business to optimize performance in a challenging & competitive business environment. During his tenure he delivered a strong & sustained financial performance: YOY Financial performance delivery, CAGR revenue growth of 32%, pre-tax profit of 40%, and continuum of investor’s confidence. Bhaskar draws his inspiration, in particular from his value based upbringing and the game of cricket which he has played at school, university and corporate level. His learnings from the game include strategic vision, situational understanding & response and teaming in particular. He has been a passionate quizzer, an avid reader, enjoys singing and listening to music and has strong spiritual inclination which has honed his leadership thinking.
