About Shalini Bhatt

I am working in the research group Defect Chemistry and Spectroscopy, led by Dr. Christoph Freysoldt. Strong expertise in method development for material characterization using density functional theory (DFT) ,MD through Python-based workflows. Skilled in image analysis and data handling, contributing to advanced materials research. We simulate the ionization contrast in field ion microscopy arising from the electronic structure of the imaged surface. The electrified surface's DFT calculations are combined with the Tersoff-Hamann approximation to electron tunneling. The approach allows for explaining the chemical contrast observed in field ion microscopy.
