My role was to offer insight and solutions-focused HR advice and support to business partners as well as work as a trusted advisor and coach to Managing Partners for the Southeast Asia and North Asia business units. Outcomes are achieved by engaging and leading a geographically dispersed HR team to manage both the transformational and transactional elements of the HR function.

We have over 1100 lawyers in 27 offices across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, as well as close ties with firms in other parts of the world.I was responsible for all aspects HR across the region (Hong Kong, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, Sydney), for both lawyers and business services, including defining the HR strategy and supporting the business through organisational change programmes as well knowledge and learning.

Responsible for the design and implementation of leadership and talent development programs for the Asia-Pacific region as well as driving the top talent identification and succession planning process.

The role focused on business partnering with Managing Partners across the division to look after the full spectrum of people related activities, with a focus on organisational development. Additionally I facilitated the implementation of the Partner-in-Training program for Asia-Pacific, a development and promotional program to grow the next generation of Partners.

Facilitate the creation and success of the Northeast Asia division: Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and Korea, ensuring HR processes were aligned and work structures designed to support collaboration.

To establish a credible HR function covering the full spectrum of HR services and partner with business leaders to to build a long-term people agenda that attracted engaged and developed the best talent for the Hong Kong office. Also involved in leading regional programs in Asia-Pacific .

Joined EMC to assist with the relocation of Asia-Pacific and Japan regional headquarters to Hong Kong and the structuring of the APJ HR team. As HR Manager, Hong Kong and Taiwan, I oversaw all HR operational and administration matters including recruitment, mobility, engagement and compensation and benefits. I later transferred to the EMC software division to support the integration of acquisition companies.
