Graduate Teaching/ Research Assistant
• ECE 5671/6671: Electric Generators My teaching experience in the previous semester and the courses I had taken over the period of my graduate study so far have led me to this position. The course is demanding as it is offered both at and undergraduate and a graduate level. As a laboratory instructor and grader, the ability to communicate and negotiate while creating a safe, yet challenging learning environment for the students along with the professor is an important part of the job. A new and established version of the software dSPACE was taught through carefully constructed handouts that were editions of various editions and constant supervision. Helping the students debug their experimental set ups and circuits proved a beneficial part of the learning process for both the students and myself. A tangential part of this responsibility also involved assisting my mentor, Dr. Marc Bodson in his research involving the properties of dual fed induction machines in association with the Glenn Research center, Cleveland, Ohio.
Graduate Teaching Assistant
• ECE 3510-002 : Introduction to Feedback systems Laboratory instructor and grader. Responsibilities included ensuring the students could relate the course material taught in class to the experiments conducted on a biweekly basis and understand the various components used and their mechanisms. They were introduced to an older version of a very relevant software, dSPACE to conduct simulations and capture data that can be later used to present their conclusions. They were also taught to modify the data and it's presentations according to the context of the experiment objectives.• ECE 2240 : Introduction to Electric circuits As a grader, the job demanded that I fairly graded a classroom while attending to their individual queries. It also entailed the responsibility to ensure the students individually knew where they went wrong and how to approach it instead. This helped them prepare for their examinations more confidently and ultimately, learn the basics of electric circuits.
Project Intern
Developing a testing module for the switching set-up of eXtreme Grade Amplifier-ll (XGA2) post burn-in tests involved a great measure of planning and strategizing along with being able to monitor, examine and assess the assembly. Interacting with the lines-men to gauge their understanding of the components and their parameters pre and post burn-in tests. The entire project was designed to the effect of optimizing the production and minimize the losses incurred by the company due to reduced rate of production and mistakenly discarded components. A part of our process also involved an ESD audit. Tailing a team of trained professionals and working with an ESD ace largely preferred by the establishment helped discern the myriad probable causes for a testing lapse. Several measures were planned, discussed and executed competently.
Research Intern
Prototyped a marketable 3D scanner and served as a teaching assistant at educational and product oriented workshops. Tested and modeled various facets of smart-building and home automation by integrating the requisite sensors with microcontrollers. Provided strategic consultation with regard to identifying potent teaching material and target audiences.
