Over the last 10 years I have developed a passion for integrating international writers and artists in public events programmes: Consultancy work includes: *International Collaboration Grants Programme* (Nov 2021)I was one of the assessors for the British Council's International Collaboration Grants programme which supports UK and overseas cultural partnerships to develop digital, face-to-face and hybrid artistic projects. Applications were open to cultural collaborations with a focus on arts and culture, or higher education and research projects with an arts and culture element. - - - - - - -*Royal Society of Literature* (Sept 2019 - May 2020)I was an Events Producer for the RSL, based at Somerset House in London, developing an ambitious programme for the organisation’s bicentenary in 2020. This included working with celebrated writers through high-profiled public events at leading venues and literary festivals across the UK, as well as live transmission of events at libraries across the UK. - - - - - - -*Literature and Publishing Russia* (Aug 2018 - Feb 2019)I was able to use my network of contacts within the UK literature sector as a Consultant for British Council Russia ́s Literature and Publishing Study Tour to the UK where I connected 12 key Russian literature professionals (publishers, translators, festival producers and policy makers) with their UK counterparts to explore collaborations and partnerships.- - - - - - -*Pop Up Creators* (March 2017 - May 2018) I worked with illustrators and comic artists from the UK and the Baltic countries – Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Pop Up is a small arts organisation that had been awarded an Arts Council England ‘Ambition for Excellence’ award of almost half a million pounds. The culmination of the project was the publishing of 120 new graphic novels by young and emerging artists, and an exhibition of the best artwork at a gallery in Mayfair which I co-curated with the the House of Illustration.

The Eastern Eye Arts, Theatre & Culture Awards (ACTAs) is the ultimate recognition of the best British Asian talent in the creative arts. It is organised by the Asian Media & Marketing Group, the publishers of Eastern Eye news weekly. Now in its third year, the ACTAs saw a total of 17 awards given away on the night, as the spotlight shone on top British Asian achievers in the creative arts.Musicians Naughty Boy and Anoushka Shankar, actress Meera Syal, actor Sacha Dhawan, presenters Anita Rani and Dr Ranj Singh, and broadcaster George Alagiah were among winners at this years ceremony, held on June 22 at London’s May Fair Hotel. www.actas.co.uk

Commonwealth Writers, the cultural initiative of the Foundation, inspires and connects writers and storytellers across the world. It believes that well-told stories can help people make sense of events and take action to bring change.• Worked with the Programme Manager in producing a sponsorship pack to help secure a sponsor for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize. • Provided technical support and expertise in the development and preparation of annual work plans and budgets. • Managed and developed new and existing partnerships.• Liaised with partner organisations in Dhaka to develop a weekly radio magazine show (similar to BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour) to be aired across Bangladesh. • Programmed and coordinated a series of events and media activities for writers from Africa as part of the launch of Safe House a new anthology of nonfiction from Africa, edited by Ellah Allfrey and co-published by Commonwealth Writers and Cassava Republic Press. This included events at the Hay Festival and an event around LGBT issues in the Commonwealth in London in partnership with Human Dignity Trust and Doughty Street Chambers.• Developed a short film initiative in the Pacific Island States and identified (via an open call) a film production company that Commonwealth Writers could partner with for the project.

The British Council Literature team builds relationships between the reading, writing and publishing communities in the UK and around the world. The UK-Mexico 2015 Dual Year was a celebration of cultural exchange between the two countries and to mark this, Mexico was the ‘Market Focus’ country at the London Book Fair (LBF) and the UK was the Guest of Honour at the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL), the world's second largest literary fair. • Built and managed relationships with key partners in the Mexico activities, including: Conaculta; London Book Fair; Publishers Association; Embassy of Mexico in London; English PEN; Writers Centre Norwich; Hay Festival; and Edinburgh International Book Festival. • Managed and delivered various bilateral components of the ‘LBF Mexico Market Focus Cultural Programme’ including: producing an anthology of writing; inviting Mexican writers to LBF; and programming a Cultural Programme across London and at UK-wide literary festivals.• Planned and delivered the various components of the Guadalajara International Book Fair ‘UK Guest of Honour Literary Programme’ including: selection of 30 UK writers and other panellists; programming 50 events across the 9-day Book Fair; and managing all print and design for the project. • Worked across art form teams to develop interdisciplinary projects.• Managed the budget and final financial report.• Line-managed the project assistant.

BCLT is Britain’s leading centre for the development, promotion and support of literary translation and contemporary writing from around the world. Here I contributed to funding discussions and developed opportunities for an increase in literary translation from South Asian languages.

The 'South Asian Literature Festival' was a multi-dimensional festival that explored the politics, languages and literature of the region through music, spoken word, visual arts and literary performance. It targeted audiences across all backgrounds and cultures.The key drivers behind setting up the South Asian Literature Festival were 1) to bring together readers and writers interested in the themes and stories related to the subcontinent, and 2) to develop new audiences for the literature sector from across London, particularly from the suburbs where most South Asian diaspora communities are based. Most of these communities had never engaged with literary festivals, book groups, book readings or any kind of creative writing in the UK. SALF was able to engage with these new audiences – of all ages – in a meaningful way and grew in size year-by-year. It brought readers of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Nepalese, Afghan, Sri Lankan and Bhutanese heritage together in the same room – something that the UK Arts sector had never seen before.Some of the key achievements include:- Conceptualising and directing four editions of the festival.- Programming over 200 events at over 25 venues across London and worked with over 500 different speakers, authors, poets, artists, academics, performers and journalists. - Forging partnerships with over 60 organisations, including publishers, arts organisations, venues, schools, libraries and funding bodies. - Successfully programming school campaigns for each Festival, reaching 2,500 pupils through events and workshops at primary and secondary schools in London.

The International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) is a non-profit organisation which represents an international network of people from all over the world who are committed to bringing books and children together. I was on the Executive Committee for the 33rd IBBY World Congress which was held at Imperial College in London in August 2012. The congress looked at issues such as globalisation, dual-language texts, cultural exchange and the art of translation.
