About Ben Cartwright

I do what I love. And early in my career, I learned that my passion is being involved in all areas of an organization. I can't help but think bigger. I realized the foundation of where I get my energy is a company culture the aligns with me on a deep level, so I always start there with teams and organizations. From here, it is exponentially easier to get the flywheel turning and see significant results, whether it's solving lingering problems that have existed "since the dawn of time," simplifying how teams process work, or increasing the bottom line (and not focusing solely on vanity metrics like revenue or headcount). At the end of the day, my ultimate goal is align people, and their outcomes, with the vision of the organization. At the core, whether in a startup, scale up, or turnaround, are its people. My focus on leadership, coaching, and development stems from a belief in the powerful impact of collective intelligence and collective effort from the teams. Working closely with individuals to provide support when needed, and space and autonomy when they're confident, is pivotal. Establishing a culture of accountability ensures that everyone (regardless of where they are in their individual stage of development) is aligned with the business goals, ultimately contributing to the greater shared vision. In managing the operational side, I prioritize objectivity, staying informed on the latest trends, data, technology, and generally wondering if there is something new or better that can make a bigger impact faster. My approach involves: - Optimizing or upgrading systems and processes and then enabling the people involved to continually improve it.- Designing and implementing strategies that align directly with the long-term vision, and the short-term goals, while ensuring it is scalable and not just a a short-term boost in a "flavor-of-the-month" metric.- Applying financial acumen to not only "manage" budgets but make them more effective to improve the organization's overall financial health. To make this all come together and transform teams and organizations is a powerful feeling for me and I am excited to keep building and learning. I'm happy to share some of my insights and experiences or learn from others. Let's connect and continue this fun journey.
