Growing up, I have always had an interest in anything creative whether it was fashion, art, or music. Throughout my earlier school years, I was always putting together different outfits and helping my friends and family choose theirs. I went to a school to study art, but realized it was not what I wanted, so I left and began studying fashion design at Mt. San Antonio College. I was excited for my first sewing class and when it started, I knew this is what I wanted. I also wanted to expand my knowledge outside of the design side of fashion, so I took fashion merchandising classes simultaneously. Throughout my fashion classes, I was able to experiment with different designs and fabrics as well as learn more about how companies forecast trends, source materials, and advertise. I have learned many skills and have been able to work as a tutor to help students with their sewing and patternmaking. Along with teaching others, I have practiced skills on my own in creating clothing lines for my classes, custom clothing for family and friends, and accessories that I gift to others.
