Lead a team of students in the research and development of a solid composite rocket motor. - Characterize APCP propellant with numerous static fires with the end goal to compete in SpacePort America Cup.-Integrate data acquisition systems to monitor chamber pressure and thrust. A Labjack DAQ, pressure transducer and load cell were used in conjunction with LabView to gather data. - Design and run FEA analysis on both vertical and horizontal test stands to ensure the applied load is within tolerances for material choices and mounting mechanisms. - Mix solid composite propellant and develop proper safety procedures for students to follow to ensure successful and efficient progress.
