As the Stroke Outreach Coordinator, I am responsible for following up with EMS and transferring hospitals who treat and care for Stroke Patients. I develop and present stroke education to EMS providers across Kentucky. I work with hospitals and EMS providers across Kentucky to ensure timely transfers to CSC’s, improving Stroke Patient care and outcomes. II am actively involved in the clinical trials at our facility to improve stroke care. An active member of AHA and AANN.

Actively participated and planned to build a comprehensive stroke program for accreditation through the Joint Commission. We are currently on our third designation as a CSC. Developed the role of our nurse practitioners in our stroke program and successfully led them to become a 24/7 care model to navigate care for our stroke population. Navigated care for every stroke patient entering our system from EMS arrival through discharge.

Received education and certification through Epic in Wisconsin. Worked with a team of 150+ to standardize seven hospitals across the system. Implemented Epic as our new healthcare documentation system. Project lead on ICU documentation and behavioral health. Active member on code and stroke narrators, one step meds, alcohol and suicide screening, and bedside sedation.
