I have overall responsibility for ensuring the streamlined operation of the IS function in alignment with the business objectives of Pact.Responsibilities include plan, coordinate develop and manage IS strategies ensuring Pact staff from the ground-up are able to make best use of IS resources in performing their roles.I Work closely with managers across Pact to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organisation and define and implement IS-related policies, procedures, and best practice.I am responsible for providing management and leadership to a small team of IS professionals. Leadership involves modeling the Pact values and attitudes, and taking initiative to support and motivate staff and teams to achieve Pact’s Mission and Vision.

Anything the boss of Indulgescents needs done in the area of Information Technology is my responsibility.I have to make sure all the systems are in tip top condition so the boss can effortlessly perform any task at any time and just about anywhere.As well as the technical side of things I am also assisting with social media and marketing.While there is a certain amount of pressure in this role, it is enjoyable and rewarding too.

I worked across all our divisions on improving how we do business for our clients/customers by improving our business processes and polcies.The management of strategic and operational projects was very interesting during restructure of divisions.Being the Quality and Risk Manager, tasked with making sure we maintained our quality systems, processes and procedures. One of the main areas for me at Polson Higgs was to improve the business and help manage the change process.For customers I worked with a great team of people involved with finding out customer needs and coming up with solutions to their problems.Some of my areas of specialisation were requirements analysis, surveys, company Facebook and LinkedIn page management, Xero and related add-on products.

I worked with a great bunch of people, colleagues and customers on many ERP, CRM and Development projects.We installed Sage ERP 300 (Accpac) and CRM, Greentree, Microsoft Dynamics AX and the developers helped customise and integrate these products to meet customer requirements.Custom development was also done for web sites and standalone applications, my involvement there was requirements gathering, accountant and project management. As the excellent developers that I worked with would agree, software development isn’t my thing.I started out on the technical side of the implementations and ended doing project management as well. I was very fortunate to have excellent team members to call on for the projects.Assignments varied in size from SME to large corporate environments which was a great way to get experience of how the different organisations worked. Industry types were from manufacturing, transport, health, NGO and government.

Provided front line support to the Cromwell and Queenstown campus with support from the Dunedin campus.Helpdesk support for the Dunedin Campus when required.This was an excellent grounding in support and systems administration.The best part about being on a helpdesk so early in ones career is that you learn about customer service and communication with people throughout the organisation.
