Promoting decent employment and socio-economic integration for return migrants in rural areas in the context of COVID-19 and beyond (MDF) Strenthening Capacity to Harness the Positive effects of Migration in Nepal- FMM Project

Major Roles and Responsibilities: Overall (technical and financial), management of project activities in the selected district in accordance to approved work plan and budget. Supervise, guide and mentor sub ordinates, produce event report as well as monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual reports maintaining district and field level database in line with project results and output indicators. Identify potential implementation sites, beneficiaries and activities for the project in different sites of the project districts in consultation with line manager and donor team and in coordination with local government and relevant agencies at the district. Take lead for planning, implementing and monitoring of project activities and proactively participate, assist and facilitate the team assigned for conducting different studies including the baseline, assessments and other studies as envisaged in the project. Collect, compile, analyze and report the field data for research and knowledge development purpose including case studies and success stories. Coordinate with respective staff of CEAPRED for gender mainstreaming and socially inclusive program implementation Monitor project activities regularly and report to program director of CEAPRED through Program Manager and project focal person in ASAI-Onlus. Follow the organizational guidelines, code of conduct, staff administration policy, financial procedures and other rules and regulations. Facilitate the visits of external visitors in the project sites of the project districts. Ensure that the project activities are effectively delivered according to the project plan and time frame.

This position is the contract position and has assigned the roles and responsibilities as a planning officer in directorate of agriculture development in province 1, Biratnagar. Work as a section chief in Market Development, Financial Analysis and Statistics Division.

Major Responsibilities: - Organize training for district-level government staff and VDC mobilizers.- Identify existing and potential FFS facilitators and organize/trained them to run FFS on climate change.- Carry out field demonstrations to test and familiarize viable adaptation practices and stress-tolerant varieties of food/forage/crops to monitor their results.- Carry out seasonal viable FFS experiments in crops and livestock.- Promote and facilitate discussions between farmers, farmer's group, DTT, and national and international consultants about the selection of locally preferred/acceptable climate change adaptation options for pilot testing.- Implement small-scale physical measures to adapt to climate change.- Acquire agro meteorological forecast products and agro advisory products through the FFS and income generations.- Administer the IEC products to disseminate improved agro meteorological forecast products.- Facilitate LAPA formulations process in project VDCs.- Monitor and supervise VDC level social mobilizers and FFS facilitators.- Report project progress and lessons learns.- Perform any other tasks that is necessary for the successful implementation of the project.

• Develop & oversee a detailed Plan of Action for homestead food production (HFP) & Livestock activities of the project;• Provide technical assistance to local NGOs implementing the homestead food production component of the project;• Coordinate HFP field activities with all Sabal program partners, including district agriculture & livestock office;• Facilitate linkages between the district agriculture, livestock and health offices to integrate the agriculture and nutrition component of the project;• Coordinate Poultry management activities with all project teams and partners, including the Sabal EHFP management team, regional and district EHFP coordinators, district agriculture and livestock offices and local NGOs;• Monitor and supervise the execution of field activities ensuring a sustainable poultry production (egg and meat) initiative that includes regeneration as a post poultry distribution activity (minimizing the existing poultry mortality issue);• Prepare contingency plans for situations that occur beyond the program’s control such as weather or disease outbreaks and monitor and oversee the bio security measures at all levels;• Provide technical support for the establishment of village model farms and community brooding centers in the Sabal project area;• Ensure that GESI priorities are fully integrated into all agriculture and nutrition interventions;• Explore possible small-scale irrigation systems and water harvesting and management;• Build linkages with water and sanitation in all program areas;• Coordinate and collaborate with district line agencies and facilitate VDC block grants to support the implementation of the multi-sectoral food security and nutrition activities.

To prepare the agricultural program, conduct trainings, monitoring and evaluation of agricultural programs, data collection, analysis and reporting, annual program preparation, co-coordinating with other agencies.
