My journey to Content Design began with a particularly critical English teacher who would often pull me aside and remark on the advanced placement quality of my writing in his oh-so advanced placement class. Without the best grade, I won the award of highest placement for AP English in my graduating class. From elementary in the US to University in Norway, I experienced this unique distinction on such a consistent basis that in my mind it became the standard expectation of my work. For years, I would not recognize my skills and enjoyed being my worst critic due to a bad case of perfectionism.It wasn't until my passion for filmmaking brought me to Los Angeles that I discovered my calling. I worked on set and studied to be a script supervisor. This experience led me to realize that the trivial technicalities of set life and continuity editing could not satisfy my professional aspirations for artistic vision and creative strategy. It was then I made a novel discovery. I had to write. I began seeding numerous projects simultaneously. Then, I traveled extensively, leaving New York for Chile, Spain, Russia, Singapore, China and back again. During this time, I strived to develop my storytelling skills and studied writing in almost every form to further develop my writing abilities. In 2020, I completed a program in Writing for Performance and the Entertainment Industries for the University of Cambridge.More recently, I added to my qualifications with a certification in UX Design and Evaluation from HEC Montreal, as well as a certification in UX Writing. Content Design is my ikigai which is a Japanese term that blends two words: “iki” meaning “to live,” and “gai” meaning “reason.” It's a concept that encourages people to discover the secret of themselves and to live a life filled with joy from uncovering what truly matters to them. It is the culmination of what you are good at, what you love, what you can be paid for, and what the world needs.
