Physician scientist and Gastroenterologist with clinical/translational research interest in colon cancer prevention and understanding the role of inflammation in the development and progression of colon carcinogenesis. Expertise in murine models of inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer. Trained as a cancer/molecular biologist during my PhD with mentor Dr. Darren Browning. Current training in mucosal immunology and transcriptomics under the tutelage of Dr. Fabio Cominelli during my postdoctoral fellowship at Case Western Reserve University. Passionate about public health, health care policy, medical and public education, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Research funding has been supported by NIH NIDDK (T32), American Gastroenterology Association (IBD GI Clinical trialist Award), and Scholar of the Burroughs Wellcome Fund PDEP.
