Managing a portfolio of inter-regional projects (operations, performance and clinical quality improvement initiatives) aligned with Kaiser Permanente's national strategic priorities in Program Office (corporate). National Operations Strategy and Implementation team leads KP towards more effective and affordable operations that leverage our integrated care and improve our performance across all lines of business and all regions. The team is responsible for both development and execution of enterprise-wide strategies around operational improvement, focusing on performance in Medicare (enabled by the Inter-Regional Program Management Office) and creation of a cohesive care continuum strategy. With the understanding that speed-to-market is an imperative in our competitive landscape, this dynamic team creates new and spread existing innovations and best practices across KP, including all 8 regions and national functions.Promoted to Senior Project Manager (March 2020).

The goal of my internship was to contribute to the development of and implementation activities for a social support mobile application platform called PretermConnect. Developed by Stanford researchers and funded by the RK Mellon Foundation, PretermConnect was created to empower mothers, at high risk for subsequent preterm deliveries, to share their personal experiences, build a community and receive targeted health interventions. Activities and deliverables included:• Generated health education content from content partners who are medical experts from academia or leaders of community organizations in Allegheny County. I vetted content from our partners and curated content directly from the partners’ website, blogs or podcasts. • Organized health education content by creating a content timeline in Excel for the hundreds of resources the team gathered and generated. This timeline has helped the team tailor the app experience for the individual needs of mothers, as well as get a scope of the current landscape of material to identify what content is missing.• Identified and Finalized Validated Tools to Assess Outcome Measures, including social determinants of health and health behaviors of mothers who will use the app. I also created a timeline for survey dissemination.• Created an Information Card and Workflow Diagram for Recruitment Activities for our community partners in Allegheny County in the population-based study arm.• Designed a workflow diagram for PretermConnect recruitment and enrollment activities in the NICU and nurseries in Pittsburgh, PA. This diagram details the process of introducing the app to mothers and the hand-offs associate with the activities. • Drafted the Study Procedures section of the RCT IRB protocol.

• Led project using quality improvement methodologies to streamline the pre-employee health screening process at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Conducted focus group for needs assessment; collected and analyzed employee health data to formulate final recommendations.

• Serve as primary contact with research participants, sponsors, and regulatory agencies. Coordinate studies from start-up through close-out.• Determine eligibility of and gather consent from study participants according to protocol. Assist indeveloping recruitment strategies.• Coordinate collection of study specimens and processing.• Collect and manage patient and laboratory data for clinical research projects. Manage research project databases, develop flow sheets and other study related documents, and complete study documents/case report forms.• Ensure compliance with research protocols, and review and audit case report forms for completion and accuracy with source documents. Prepare regulatory submissions, and ensure Institutional Review Board renewals are completed.• Assemble study kits for study visits, monitor scheduling of procedures and charges, coordinate documents, and attend monitoring meetings with sponsors, acting as primary contact.• Monitor expenditures and adherence to study budgets and resolve billing issues in collaboration with finance and/or management staff.• Interact with the principal investigator regularly, ensuring patient safety and adherence to proper study conduct.• Ensure essential documentation and recording of patient and research data in appropriate files per institutional and regulatory requirements.

• Conduct a research study on the eating habits of kids in low income areas for ChildObesity180 at Tufts University. • Assess children's orders and consumption in restaurants in the Springfield area.

• Provide free culturally competent referrals to college students, women in crisis (rape or domestic violence), suicide victims, and minority groups in Hampshire County.• Manage Human Resource database and monthly statistical reportings for the entire organization.• Attend staff meetings weekly and 40-hour training on: working with diverse populations, listening skills, crisis management, suicide awareness, confidentiality, women’s health, and domestic violence.• Created the first database network for CWC Alumni as the Alumni Coordinator.

• Administer a patron survey and at the Plainridge Park Casino, the first casino to open up in Massachusetts, for The Social and Economic Impacts of Gambling in MA (SEIGMA) Study.• Perform data entry of handwritten surveys.

• Conducted a retrospective cohort study on the variable costs in neonates and children supported with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), IRB protocol development and submission, collected data from PHIS (n=1,362) database, organized with ICD-9 codes, and analyzed using STATA. • Submitted study abstract to be published by the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Accepted as a Research Snapshot Presentation for the the 45th Critical Care Congress in 2016.• Observed a spinal fusion case, cardiac bypass case, and shadowed in the Cardiac ICU.•Attended Anesthesia Grand Rounds, meetings with PI, and internship coordinators weekly.
