Connecting customers to this mind-growing experience had to be one of my favourite tasks! After Christmas was over and the New Year came and went I joined the corporate office as their in-house graphic designer and social media coordinator. Creation of magazine advertisements and redesign of the brand identity materials intertwined with part-time Twitter marketing campaign planning and growing Facebook audience. As Marbles: The Brain Store graduated from small to mid-sized business the graphic requests became full-time. The staff was always enthusiastic about marketing their classes and open to seeing what I could come up with. This gave room to experiment with new tips I learned in class or from online tutorials. For example, an 80's inspired aerobic class rocked out with Sega Genesis inspired typography! And they loved it! There were more informational and neutral toned handouts designed as well. The quarterly class schedule was updated as well as membership pamphlets and team sport tournaments. This continual reinforcement of my skills along with the increase of design requests greatly improved project turn around time. The fact that people were moving around the gym challenged me to come up with visuals that would make them notice or even if they were to slow down a bit. I received immediate feedback when class attendance improved! Show less
