• Prepare for and conduct administrative arbitration hearings on behalf of Library management concerning employment matters • Provide counseling on all aspects of the employment relationship to HR, including recruiting, security, hiring, performance management and discipline, employee mobility, compensation and benefits, leaves of absence and accommodations, wage and hour, investigations, and contractor/contingent workforce issues • Investigate and respond to claims, complaints, audits, and other employment-related inquiries• Manage employment litigation, including case strategy and communications with the Department of Justice, as well as drafting litigation reports, motions, answers, e-discovery, settlement agreements and coordinating witness testimony and depositions for cases under Title VII • Provide prompt verbal and written legal advice to senior Library management officials to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in administrative law, federal ethics, the Privacy Act, information security, the Federal Records Act and with labor and employment regulations, trends, and best practices• Draft and review Library regulations to ensure compliance with statutory authorities• Advise the Chief Security Officer concerning security investigations, incident reporting, breach notifications, in compliance with specific federal security laws and regulations • Working knowledge of intellectual property rights (copyright, trademark, and right of publicity) and consumer protection laws and regulations applicable to marketing collateral and initiatives across regulated industries and channels (e.g., online, broadcast, retail, telephone, and social media)
