Recognizing the importance of policy implementation, I collaborated closely with senior managers. Our combined efforts produced an uptick in employee satisfaction and an impressive 40% increase in youth advocate retention.My leadership responsibilities also allowed me to supervise a team of 10 young people and former foster youth. I felt privileged to be a part of their journey, aiding them in achieving professional milestones and navigating their educational aspirations and mental health needs. I balanced managing daily organizational priorities while ensuring each team member felt supported in their growth journey.One of the accomplishments I'm most proud of is the inception and development of the "Garson's Advocate Program." This initiative, designed to empower former foster youth in advocacy, involved defining specific roles and providing rigorous training. I oversaw over 60 hours of training for 4 young individuals, equipping them to transform their past challenges into future strengths.

As a QA assistant, I took on the task of rectifying data inconsistencies, ensuring the organizations operations met the standards of the Administration of Children Services (ACS). Recognizing the potential for improvement in our documentation processes, I helped spearhead the introduction of Binti, a new data entry system at You Gotta Believe. This system streamlined our operations and played a crucial role in transforming our workplace culture and documentation process. As a result of this initiative, we observed a substantial 30% surge in comprehensive documentation from all YGB staff.

As a Youth Advocate, I established authentic relationships with two key partner agencies and connected with over 15 foster youth. This wasn't just about building bridges; it was about ensuring genuine youth engagement and creating meaningful youth-adult partnerships that addressed the needs of families and children.My passion for education and advocacy led me to design and conduct over 25 workshops on various topics in child welfare. These sessions, attended by former foster youth, child welfare professionals, and council members, focused on the essential skills needed to rehumanize child welfare.One of my most fulfilling roles was leading the Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting (MAPP/GPSII) training. Through this, I had the privilege of certifying over 100 foster and adoptive parents, ensuring they were well-equipped to provide a nurturing environment for children under their care.

In Florida, my passion for democracy led to an increase in voter rights among young adults, primarily college students. Using a mix of networking, digital campaigns, and traditional face-to-face conversations, I got over 50 college students registered to vote. My goal was to give volume to young voices and ensure that tomorrow's leaders are heard and accounted for.

After completing my internship with Fosterclub in 2018, I had the privilege of returning and mentoring 10 resilient individuals who once navigated the foster care system. My focus was on empowering these young minds, enhancing their engagement capabilities, and prepping them for workshops. Recognizing the need for conversations around equity, I took the lead in creating and facilitating workshops centered on diversity, inclusion, and racial justice. Through these sessions, we not only imparted essential knowledge on the child welfare system and available resources, but also fostered an environment where every voice, felt valued and heard.

As an advocate for child welfare, I played a pivotal role in guiding the implementation of the Family First Prevention Services Act, leveraging my lived expertise to influence legislators and congressional members. Partnering with 15 esteemed child welfare professionals, I led and presented over 10 transformative workshops, enriching the lives of over 100 current and former foster youth. Through these endeavors, I not only enhanced the organization's impact but also fortified the foundations of child welfare.

As a dedicated tutor, I delivered tailored instruction to 30 Business Administration students, honing their skills in Quantitative Business Methods, Financial/Managerial Accounting, and Business Statistics. My specialized approach not only elevated their academic prowess but also added significant value to the organization's educational standards. I served as the first and only Black business administration tutor, bringing a much-needed perspective and diversity to the role. This presence not only enriched the tutoring program but also fostered a welcoming environment for BIPOC students, encouraging them to seek educational assistance. Recognizing my impact and leadership, I was further entrusted with a tutoring position for the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and student-athletes, continuing to champion and represent our BIPOC communities.
