About Bianca G. Costa

Over the past 16 years I have been dedicating my life in studying and working in animal welfare and sustainable farming research and outreach. I have extensive international experience, currently living in the 7th country of a beautiful list that comprises Europe, South and North America. I am passionate about improving the welfare and performance of livestock through sustainable and innovative practices that are in harmony with nature and economically feasible for producers. I am pursuing my doctoral degree in animal sciences at the University of Minnesota, where I work on a project comparing different pre-weaned calf rearing options for organic dairy producers. I have a strong animal welfare and sustainability background and a keen interest in sustainable food systems and agroecology.I organize outreach events in dairy and sustainable farming. I have acquired data visualization, project management, and training skills through my academic and professional experiences. I am also a co-founder and chair of the Sustainable Animal Ag Study Group, which fosters discussion and fills curriculum gaps on sustainability and regenerative agriculture in animal production systems.
