I assist nurse case managers with any care coordination and outreach that need to be done for health plan members after their stay at a hospital. This includes empathetic listening, contacting transportation services, arranging appointments with their providers, and more.

I supported operations at over 40 social science laboratories by purchasing supplies, delivering packages, and greeting volunteers. It was cool to see the business side of running a lab!

I held three board positions through my three years as a FILAH Board member. I think it works to put them all into one job title because no matter our positions were, we were encouraged to help wherever it was needed (even as a co-president). I’m happy to have been a part of a group that cultivated such an accepting place on campus.

The Bulosan Center connected over a hundred Fil-Am college students across the country, meeting biweekly to discuss literature on mental health, educational, and intersectional disparities. The pieces’ emphasis on disaggregating data in Asian American communities was impactful to learn about.

Under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist, I ensured the office at UC Davis Health was sanitary and organized prior to any patient walking into the department. I had the opportunity to sit in occupational therapy sessions, where I gained insight into the impact technology can have in improving day to day functioning.

BRIDGE was one of my first exposures to “community programming” in a college setting. Not only did upperclassmen guide us through setting up these LinkedIn profiles, but they provided encouragement as many of us took initiative in our communities for the first time. The project management and teamwork skills I gained through this internship are skills I managed to carry with me through the rest of college, and still now, in my full time job.
