As part of the 2020 Employment Services Strategy I have co-facilitated projects, focus groups and participated in sprints which used qualitative information gathered from user groups nationwide, to develop personas and journey maps for the New Employment Services Model. This experience has enabled me to provide insights into solutions across various levels of design, including how understanding users need can shape policy and IT design. I am currently working across two teams as a user-centred designer and capability lead to advance operational change within the department. As part of my role as an organisation capability officer I have been working in collaboration with the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) as a change and capability project lead on a cross agency, whole of government operational change model focused on upskilling staff capability. The model seeks to identify, develop and iterate digital career pathways for staff to upskill in IT roles, skills and capabilities with the department.

I work as a consultant for Leaders Insight Pty Ltd as a communications advisor in the strategic space. I have been contracted to the Department of Finance and am currently working at the Department of Jobs and Small business as part of their Organisational Capability and User-Centred Design team. I have developed skills in service design and user-centre design and contributed to a number of different projects establishing better ways of working in response to the 2018 corporate review.I assisted the acting director through providing advice on a range of user-centred design projects. This consisted of conducting user research, synthesising, reporting and running workshop presentations on qualitative data, and its implications on future policy.I also worked within a small team and the senior executive service to develop an implementation action plan on a department wide capability health check. The steps included formulating a communications plan, and change management plan to facilitate adoption of improved ways of working across the department.

I work as part of Flow Groups strategic communications. research and marketing team. I undertake various tasks and projects for the organisation. The largest of which was developing, establishing and implementing a rebranding of Flow Comm to enter the Not-for-Profit (NFP) and small to medium enterprise (SME) sector. I was in charge of analysing the market sector, pitching strategies, meeting with clients to negotiate partnerships, PR for clients of Flow Comm and other general administrative roles for the organisation.

I worked alongside a team of experts communication, public relations and strategic management as a member of Strategic Leadership. We managed and oversaw policy changes to Government legislation, whilst providing advice to the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) regarding changes to the 2020 policy guidelines.

I interned at the Council of the Ageing (COTA) in 2015 to gain experience working for a smaller industry with government ties. I was responsible for the advocating, communications, marketing and in particular social media for the organisation. ​During this internship I performed daily tasks from administrative work to helping organise and promote awareness for their largest annual event; Seniors Week. I was able to assist with the online media, communications and published two of their weekly newsletters and on behalf of the organisation. I was also fortunate enough to be asked to advertise and raise awareness of issues impacting older Australians on radio. This first hand experience only strengthening my ability to communicate on behalf of an organisation.​I believe COTA was the perfect organisation to start my professional working career as they allowed me to work across a wide range of tasks. This allowed me to have first hand experience with managing a professional business Facebook page, engaging with clients online, events management. They also had no budget so this allowed me to experience the difficulties for smaller organisations and solve problems around funding. Working at COTA has been a truly enriching experience that has benefited me greatly as a student.
