As I was concluding my freshman year of high school, I went on a hunger strike during my family vacation to protest the unethical ways my extended family supported the hunting and oftentimes eating of endangered species. Since then, I’ve grown and matured as a person - and learned that there are better, smarter, and less painful ways to make a point about the things I believe in. I moved past hunger strikes, and started immersing myself into the world of science and technology, and discovered how the two can intertwine to push forward the conservation of animals, and maintenance of biodiversity in our planet. I grew up knowing that I wanted to dedicate my life to scientific advancement in the field of conservation of endangered species and protect the animals that have dominated the world for millions of years. I hope to find like-minded individuals who are just as nature-oriented as I am, and are wanting to use their knowledge for good and for the protection of our planet and all of the species that we share our earth with. My goal is to combine science with compassion, and build a better world for the animals that we coexist with by utilizing CRISPR-Cas9 technology and other technologies that could be useful in creating and sustaining a kinder, more resilient, and more biodiverse world.
