Content Curator

London, United Kingdom

Twitter has a Breaking News team spread over five different time zones to cover important stories that first appear on its platform. Brazil is one of the most relevant markets for the platform, and they needed a Brazilian journalist to join their London team. My experience with journalism, and proficiency with Twitter, it's what made me a good fit to cover stories in Brazilian Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Given the team’s broad geographical separation across many different time zones, clear communication and standardisation were critical elements of the daily routine. To make things easier, Tweetdeck, Slack and Trello were among the most used collaboration tools. After finding a relevant story, I would select tweets from verified and unverified accounts to create a factually accurate collection of posts that would tell the story as it happened. To ensure the collection and tweets were authentic, I had to follow a strict guideline of documented fact-checking steps, which was subsequently reviewed for accuracy and compliance by a peer curator. Upon successful review, the selection would be posted on the relevant official Twitter handles. I covered hundreds of stories and received praises from superiors and peers, especially for Venice’s floodings breaking news in 2019. Twitter was the first English platform to report it, subsequently providing content for several other media outlets.

Conversational Interface Consultant

London, United Kingdom

Roundforest offers a tech suite that generates and optimises e-commerce-content that appears on a portfolio of shopping assistance websites (such as uk.bestreviews.guide). These websites focus on simplifying customers’ research over the vast selection of Amazon, eBay, and Walmart’s product choices. Roundforest leverages on Artificial Intelligence and big data to deliver shopping suggestions based on relevance, customer reviews, and demand. I was assigned to research the viability of developing a chatbot shopping assistant to help customers find the best option for what they were looking for. My experience with Google Assistant combined with my knowledge of identifying user behaviour trends were the key factors in me being selected as the consultant for this project. My first task was to create a persona for the chatbot and an outcome-focused conversational strategy based on A/B testing. Following an extensive review of data analysis and customer behaviour, we concluded the best path was to adopt a hybrid solution. The solution comprised a two-step approach where the conversation’s start would be led by a chatbot until finding the exact product. At that point, a real person would take over the chat stream while maintaining the virtual assistant persona. For this approach to work seamlessly, I delivered an in-depth online customer behaviour research report along with a customised CRM style guide, which became the handbook used by all agents.

Creative Writer For Google Assistant On Assignent At Google

London

Google Assistant is an artificial intelligence-powered virtual assistant developed by Google available on mobile and smart home devices. The product is available in dozens of languages and markets; each requires a native speaker to write, refine the local language’s use, localise existing English content into other languages, and bring relevant content references to each market. Brazil is considered one of the five most important markets for Google Assistant, and the market lead needed an extra peer to help improve and create more content for the product. My expertise with creating and identifying relevant digital content for different audiences, along with experiences such as a collaborative project which created personas based on young-adult Brazilian stereotypes; were essential for me being selected for the role. I created and curated content for seasonal campaigns, analysed user behaviour and content performance, created analysis reports to understand the opportunities and challenges for the product in that specific market. Among my most significant achievements was the Carnival campaign of 2019 that had outstanding views and engagement results, as well as curating the content for both Brazilian and English language markets for the first-ever campaign for the International Women's Day of the same year.
