While at Rice I managed over 600 endowments for Rice University, and administer $2B in need- and merit-based endowed financial aid funds. I oversaw faculty and staff departmental endowments and scholarship funds, and ensured compliance with University and Department of Education rules and regulations. I also coordinated with the Constituent Relations, Development, and Finance teams to produce annual reports for senior leadership. I am was in charge of creating awards packaged for new and returning undergraduate students based on needs analysis, and adjusting awards for part-time enrollment, outside scholarship, and tuition waivers. Additionally, I counseled students and parents on financial aid determinations, and answer questions and concerns. Most notably, I overhauled a $17M outside scholarship award program to resolve issues related to the unequal disbursement of funds and outside donor compliance, bringing the office into compliance for the first time in years.

Previously, I managed a $1.3M federal Work-Study budget that created 500 annual part-time jobs across 90 departments. This included serving as an SME to Work-Study managers across numerous departments, and ensuring faculty and staff awarded endowed and restricted scholarship funds within timelines and budgets. Additionally, I counseled current and prospective students and families on federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, and developed individualized plans to meet financial obligations. I tracked historical federal, state, and institutional funds data, analyzed expenditures and surpluses, and adjusted departmental allocations and student awards per bi-weekly Work-Study earnings. I also led workshops for high school juniors and seniors at public and private schools throughout San Antonio to address admissions and financial aid timelines, policies, and costs, and how to apply for scholarships.Most notably, I reduced institutional Work-Study expenditures by 35% in 2 years to meet University revenue outcomes while maintaining enrollment goals and addressing student needs. I also successfully transformed the Work-Study program in coordination with the HR and Finance teams to: establish supervisor and student employee training workshops; implement a web-based recruiting program; and create budget expenditure, surplus, and job placement tracking procedures to better recruit and retain students.

As an Instructional Coordinator, I managed the GED and ESL programs at Del Mar College, serving 2K students per year. I scheduled classes, secured spaces, reviewed curricula, managed inventories, provided technical support to instructors, and tracked attendance and test data. I also produced monthly and annual reports to the College and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Further, I partnered with city and county government officials, non-profits, and school districts for program sites, advertising assistance, and instructor recruitment. I successfully established 10 new satellite GED and ESL class sites and 4 new satellite campuses throughout Texas in accordance with Texas Workforce Commission adult education and training regulations ensuring all operational costs were met with in-kind support. Additionally, I hired and supervised 11 classroom instructors, and created and led professional development workshops to improve teaching outcomes and regulatory compliance.

As a Transfer Advisor at Texas A&M, I tracked transfer student data through reverse transfer associate degrees, enrollment and persistence numbers, and contacts. I then utilized findings to structure funding to continuously increase transfer enrollment. I increased transfer enrollment by 11% by developing partnerships with multiple community colleges to offer on-campus transfer advising. I also implemented and led an annual faculty professional development seminar with over 20 hours of continuing education for 100 staff members. This included securing keynote speakers and workshop presenters, overseeing travel arrangements, processing honorarium payments, overseeing event space logistics, and evaluating program efficacy.

In this position, I provided individual and group financial aid counseling to a student body of 15K graduates and undergraduates at Texas A&M. I administered a successful campus-based federal loan program, managing loan application processing, account reconciliations, and tracking expenditures, loan repayments, forgiveness, and defaults. Additionally, I helped students meet financial obligations to the University and repay loans post-graduation, utilizing an up-to-date knowledge of federal and state grant and loan programs. I also led withdrawal counseling sessions, and reached out to former students identified as delinquent to bring loans current. Finally, I coordinated between loan servicers and students, and provided enrollment and graduation data.
