I am honored to be the recipient of the 2014 Distinguished Advisor in Philanthropy award from the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts and the Pioneer Valley Estate Planning Council. I appreciate being recognized by my peers for my innovative work in real estate philanthropy, and for my volunteer work with numerous non-profit organizations.I have spent over 30 years working in non-profit management, fundraising and real estate. In 2001 I combined this experience to form Bidwell Advisors, a consulting firm that provides real estate services to non-profits, private property owners and professional advisors. Bidwell Advisors specializes in real estate philanthropy, concentrating on helping non-profits of all shapes and sizes to attract, structure, close and dispose of real estate gifts of all types. The firm also helps non-profits analyze and dispose of surplus real estate, and assists organizations in their search for property for building or lease. In addition, I speak frequently on matters pertaining to real estate gifts and land conservation. I contribute articles regularly to planned giving professional journals and other publications. From 1990 to 2001 I served as National Director of Land Protection for American Farmland Trust. I was in charge of AFT's conservation real estate transactions, and created the Farm Legacy Program, which combined planned giving techniques with conservation real estate transactions.I am proud to serve as Chair of the Board of Directors of National Priorities Project, a national non-partisan federal budget research organization that works to make the U.S. federal budget more democratic, equitable, and representative. My daughter and I are founders of Northampton High Crew/Northampton Community Rowing.I received my BA from Dartmouth College, my M. Ed. from Harvard University, and my M.B.A. from Boston University.
