Co-Editor And Author Scholarly Catalogue Of European Sculpture In The Rijksmuseum (1100-1850)
CurrentSince January 2009, I am researching the entire collection of sculptures in the Rijksmuseum for a scholarly catalogue of which I will be co-editor and -author together with the senior curator of sculpture Frits Scholten. From 2023 onwards, the entries will be published on the Rijksmuseum's website. The collection of Netherlandish sculpture, from the Middle Ages to successive periods, forms the starting point. Sculptures from other countries will follow thereafter, published per country. In its final form, the catalogue will comprise over 1100 comprehensive entries, covering the Middle Ages until the early 20th century.
Principle Researcher 'Quellinus At Work'
CurrentA group of some 35 terracotta models and sketches that Artus I Quellinus (1609-1668) made in preparation for the sculptural programme of the 17th-century Amsterdam town hall forms the starting point of this interdisciplinary research project into the studio practices of Quellinus’s large workshops in Amsterdam and Antwerp.
