• Assist in developing, implementing, and enforcing safety and environmental policies and procedures.• Conduct monthly safety reports and factory inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.• Conduct investigations for accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.• Liaise with Government Departments regarding safety, health and environment-related matters• Ensure timely completion of yearly statutory events such as annual audiometric tests, medical examinations, health surveillance, safety-related training, HIRARC, chemical & PPE-related matters, etc• Conduct safety committee meetings and prepare minute meetings for the safety community• Register chemicals, update chemical inventory, update outdated safety data sheets (SDS) and ensure proper labelling of hazardous materials.• Assist in conducting risk assessments and job hazard analyses.• Conduct an inspection of first aid items and fire equipment at the factory• Arrange and monitor with supplier for maintenance and testing of firefighting equipment system.• Provide advice to the employer on OSH Act and Regulation Compliance• Conduct training for all employees such as fire drills, chemical spillage, first aid, fire extinguishing, and ERT from time to time on awareness and including induction for new staff• Review the permit-to-work policy and brief the contractor when entering the factory.• Monitor and coordinate pest control activities around the factory premises compound/hostel.• Any other duties as and when assigned from time to time by the superior.
