I am the Executive Director at EEqual, a youth powered nonprofit that believes education and housing are human rights. There is power in youth leadership!15 years ago I moved to Los Angeles and got hired as a case manager at a homeless shelter. Lord knows why they hired me. I didn't have any experience or skills, but I am so glad they did. Over the years I honed my skills, deepened my understanding of justice, and built a career as a non profit leader. I was eventually promoted to manage that homeless shelter. After that, I worked in and managed homeless service programs until I moved to Portland 8 years ago. I recently ended my tenure as an Executive Director after 5 amazing years. I am leaving on the best of terms. This past year, I exceeded my budget goals by 25%. I am now board treasurer for Beyond These Walls. Over the past 5 years I have built an organization from scratch. I can fundraise, grant write, manage programs, hire/fire staff, manage a board of directors, examine data, build coalitions/partnerships, and so much more! Currently, I co-lead the Oregon Prisoner Coalition, a statewide coalition of 12 organizations working on prison conditions in Oregon.I am a justice centered, humorous, joyful leader.
