I started at Infusionsoft as a Front-End Developer, and left three years later, as the senior manager for the 6 teams responsible for the development and maintenance of our flagship product. I was the instructor for RockIt's 10-week Front-End Web Development course, covering the essentials of logic and data structures, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery and other front-end frameworks used in developing interactive websites and dynamic web applications.This was a hands-on course, perfect for beginners, and I was extremely excited to be able to give back to the community and help encourage and educate a fresh group of aspiring developers.

In this role, I was responsible for introducing some new tools and concepts in order to improve development quality of life, and make organizational collaboration easier, such as converting us from SVN to GitHub, and introducing a chat client as an alternative to email. My team's main project was the conversion of a legacy Cold Fusion application into a modern, standards-compliant, service-oriented application with a rich web interface for the purpose of managing vending telemetry devices.

PNNL was an incredible opportunity, and while I spent a lot of my time simply in awe, I did find time to design some software for mobile devices for the 2004 Supercomputing Conference, which at the time was pretty edgy stuff. I also had the privilege to work with some very cool equipment, including some infrared camera arrays designed to detect body movement, and allow people to interact with biological data by just reaching out their hands and 'moving' objects around on a 3D screen. I helped with some user testing for this (at the time) unheard of technology.
