While going to the University of New Mexico full-time, I was also working part-time at a CPA office in Santa Fe, NM, in addition to coaching. I majored in accounting as to have a broad background in accounting/operations/audit, so that I could find a career that I would enjoy. Ultimately, I ended up in Raleigh, North Carolina as an Internal Auditor for First Citizens Bank. I also travel and play in professional beach volleyball tournaments, have developed/successfully ran a volleyball club in Santa Fe, NM, head coached national level teams in Albuquerque, NM, as well as directed club volleyball tournaments whilst going to school and working other jobs. From my athletics background, accounting, and internal audit experience, I developed strong interpersonal communication skills, leadership capabilities, and work extremely well in group environments. My personal work philosophies are rooted in athletics, however I believe that there is a strong transferable skill set. A quote by a renowned basketball coach, John Wooden, has always driven me: "Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are." I believe that I should always strive to be the best person that I can be, which mirrors my professional and ethical standards.
