Upskilling Consultant - Sales & LeadershipSelf Employed Apr 2017 - PresentChennai Area, IndiaImagine a typical classroom-training scenario - 1-3 days of training time, lots of knowledge/methods taught, some hands-on activities to further drill in the knowledge, discuss actionables, some pleasantries, bye-bye!Very few organisations go beyond this ‘knowledge stage’ and track what the actual objective of the training was, to start with – change in Skill or Behaviour.Research says that upskilling or behaviour change can only come from one thing – Application.Without application and practice, a training programme is nothing but a holiday with free lunch; or more recently, completion of an appraisal objective.This is where I undertake to make a difference!I work with client organisations on ‘Upskilling Assignments’, rather than just deliver a day or two of closed-room teaching.Post training, I work with the group by tracking how they are able to apply their learnings to their day-to-day work. Using one-on-one sessions, suggesting course corrections, reiterations, encouraging attitudinal shifts, I help the group realise the positive changes they could bring about in their results, all the while working towards meeting the ‘actual’ end objective a training session – Change! -

Research says (and I know it's true from my decades being a ‘Trainee’) that, unlike children, adults learn best through experience and self-discovery. This has been the cornerstone of my approach to designing/delivering content in my programmes.I have had the privilege of working with thousands of participants - across age groups and hierarchies – from some of the top-tier companies in the country.
