● Employed as welding supervisor for the construction of offshore topsides, deck sections, deck facilities,platforms, Jackets & its appurtenances. correct application of codes and standards, Pre-weld inspectionand verification of pre-heating, correct use of approved procedures and welder’s in-process weldingsurveillance, Conduct weld audit, consumable audit.● Post welding inspection, Reporting and scheduling weld joints for NDT, Inspection of weld repairs, andVerification of post weld heat treatment, Final inspection and prepare punch list against the P&ID per ITPrequirements. Conduct internal audit to verify the compliance, adequacy and effectiveness of theJRM/project specific procedures.● Responsible for the training of Welders & Welder Operators.● Responsible for maintaining training records & Welders Qualification Test Records.● Conducting Best Practice training to all welders.

Ensure that all welders receive appropriate hands on welding skills training.● Conduct Practical training of welders to ensure that their skill level is satisfactory not only to pass the testbut to be able to cope with weld configurations in structures & piping.● The welding Instructor needs to wear a hood and work with the welders to not only communicate thetechnique but also demonstrate the technique.● The training material should be appropriate for the skill of the welder, i.e., plate material for inexperiencedwelders to perform fillets, and 2 side butt welds, before advancing onto pipe 6G or 6GR.● Structural welders should be trained to weld beam to beam connections; tubular TKY and otherconfigurations to assure that the welders reach a level of proficiency before assigning to yard.● Welders need to be indoctrinated in Best Practice for good ground connections, proper cleaning of interpass runs, closing rat holes, wrap around, minimum weld reinforcement, crater filling, pickups, avoidanceof spatter & undercut, inspecting their finished weld and proper machine settings.● Coordinate & source welding consumable & base materials for training & testing.

Surveillance of welding consumables and welding process SMAW, SAW, FACW etc.,● Weld monitoring and ensure all parameters with in WPS range.● Weld Visual Inspection and check defects by NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, DPT) with respect to therelevant codes & NDT plan● Monitoring, record and reporting Welding Parameter for repair joints.● Witnessing vacuum test, pneumatic & Hydrostatic tests.● Preparation of inspection reports, punch lists and all related documents for final acceptance.,● Reporting on QA / QC activities within the framework of weekly / monthly reporting by site management.● Review of inspection results & reports of UT, RT, MT, and PT.● Prepare and Maintaining of all inspection report and related documents in QA/ QC department.● Final document preparation system wise for project completion dossier.
