Background of 29 years spanning buy side as well sell side in Technical Analysis and Quantitative Research. I have evolved my own quantitative and alternate frameworks for market analytics and ideation. Prominent buy side roles included the role of Technical Analyst for Radhakishan Damani back in 1997 and Technical Analysis Trading Strategist for ICICI Bank treasury for the Prop Trading Group. Sell side roles included Quantitative and Technical Analyst for Kotak Securities and founding member of Quant Broking. Over the past 12 years, I have evolved my own software platform for Quant / Technical Analysis research creating greater efficiencies in my workflow.Three decades back when I embarked on my market analytics journey, in that youthful exuberance, I could see only possibilities; that there are tools to analyze the market that can answer all the puzzles. But today, I know that all the tools attempted and created so far by market analysts, investors and traders the world over can only partially answer the crucial questions. We do not have all the answers and hence the need to separate the “answerables” from the “un-answerables”, to avoid spending time and effort on the impossibilities and focus on the possibilities, The transition from fiction to fact, to focus on what "works" than what "sells". Many superstitions to be abandoned; new truths discovered and existing truths re-discovered, gleaned out of the successes and failures of the past three decades.
