During my 4/5 years of experience, working in the bakery and pastry department of a hotel like Yak and Yeti is an exciting and challenging experience. There are many opportunities to showcase creativity and skills in creating a variety of pastries, cakes, bread, and desserts for the hotel's guests.In such a department, a pastry chef must work collaboratively and ensure that the products made are not only delicious but also visually appealing. There is a high expectation of quality and uniqueness from the guests, and the chef must deliver on this expectation.The day typically starts very early, sometimes as early as 4 am, to prepare the bread and pastry products for breakfast. The chef will spend a few hours mixing, folding, and shaping dough to ensure that everything is ready before breakfast service begins.To serve various cakes, pastries, and desserts on time requires excellent time management skills as well as the ability to manage many different tasks at once.We must also be aware of the guests' dietary requirements, such as gluten-free, vegan, nut allergies, and other special requests. This means that the chef must be creative and adaptable to these requirements while still producing high-quality pastries and cakes.In conclusion, working in the bakery and pastry department at Hotel Yak and Yeti is a rewarding and challenging experience for any pastry chef. Since February 2022, I have been working at dnata catering in a halal kitchen. As a staff member, my responsibilities include preparing food according to halal dietary requirements, ensuring that all food is fresh and of high quality, and ensuring that food safety and hygiene standards are met.In my time at dnata catering, I have been able to hone my culinary skills and have learned new techniques for preparing and cooking halal food. I have also gained experience in managing inventory and ordering supplies. This has improved my ability to work under pressure and helped me become more efficient in my work.Moreover, I have always been proactive and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. Overall, my work experience at dnata catering in a halal kitchen has been valuable and rewarding. I have been able to develop my skills and contribute to a team that's dedicated to providing high-quality food to customers, and I look forward to continue working there.
