Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide. My research aims to understand how our metabolic environment shapes vascular disease susceptibility. To do so, our research integrates mechanistic studies, animal models and analyses of human patient material to develop a holistic view of molecular mechanisms underlying disease risk. The long-term aim is to develop clinical strategies to reduce the risk of diseases driven by vascular dysfunction.
