Led the build-out (and oversaw the continued development) of the Accounting functions for 15 venture-backed technology startups. I partnered with CEO's and COO's to tailor solutions around accurate revenue, OPEX, payables and receivables reporting. I also built customized reporting to update management teams on critical KPI's and financial metrics.

TubeMogul is the leading software company for brand advertising. Our advertising software enables the world’s largest brands to plan, execute, and measure their advertising spend. TubeMogul was acquired by Adobe Systems Inc. in December 2016.As a key member of the OPEX Accounting function, I had the responsibility over recording and reconciling balances within cash, prepaids, PP&E, long-term debt, payroll, RSU tax liabilities, capital accounts, deferred rent, and lease liabilities. I've also led the end-to-end implementation of the Concur Expense Management platform within our business, and worked to streamline expense management for all stakeholders involved. A key achievement of mine was creating and managing SOX-compliant reconciliations for a large part of our balance sheet. The effort significantly improved the structure and process around our financial reporting, allowing us to better gauge the company's financial activity.

The Gymboree Corporation is a specialty retailer, selling children’s clothing under the Gymboree, Crazy 8, Janie and Jack, and Outlet brands. The company also offers play programs for children under the Gymboree Play and Music brand, a franchised operation. Primary responsibilities as the Accountant within the Play & Music team included:- Serving as finance liaison and advising 700+ Gymboree Play & Music franchisees on quarterly financial reporting guidelines.- Walking new franchisees through financial reporting applications, and answering all inquiries to ensure understanding and compliance with regards to financial reporting guidelines. - Posting month-end journal entries to G/L, reconciling related accounts, and investigating resulting discrepancies.- Maintaining franchise revenue A/R roll-forward, projecting quarterly bad debt reserve & bad debt expense aligned to management expectations.- Performing ad-hoc and ancillary support for management, finance, and IT/applications team.

- Recorded month-end JEs for credit card revenues and fees across all Gymboree retail brands, and reconciled related accounts. - Reconciled credit card revenues with collections, and partnered with Sales Audit and banking teams to resolve discrepancies. - Partnered with CSR and warehousing teams to investigate and respond to chargebacks, fraud inquiries, and charge discrepancies identified within Sales Audit system. - Supported retail store inquiries regarding credit card charges, POS terminal charge errors, and ensured urgent resolution for a successful customer experience.
