Construction ManagerFsm Petroleum Corporation Feb 2022 - Mar 2023Chuuk State, Federated States Of MicronesiaI am currently engaged by FSM Petroleum Corporation for the construction of one of the largest Coconut Processing Factory to be located in the South Pacific. FSM Petroleum Corporation has also setup an initiative to be the supplier of Renewable Energy to FSM by 2025. After completion, the factory will also supply renewable electricity to the island of Tonoas whereby the by-products of coconut husk and shells will be placed in boiler which would generate electricity. The island of Tonoas was the main base for the Japanese during the World War 2 and this island did not electricity after the World War 2.The project has been divided in two packages which is Coconut for Life which includes the construction of the main factory and installation of all the components to run the factory and the second package is Livelihood Improvement for Tonoas. I am primarily responsible to effectively lead the Construction Project Team to complete the Construction Project on time, within budget and as per the scope of works. I also overlook and manage the contractor who will be carrying out construction and installation work for the upcoming factory. Some of the works which falls under my responsibility are development and monitoring of construction budgets, development of business case where required with the annual budget achieved, develop construction work plan, develop corporate for the company and execute it, identify risks and communicate with the functional managers and CEO, training needs for the staff, carry out performance review and staff appraisals. Collaboration and leadership are carried out to achieve relevant organizational targets and goals and this is done by myself and the functional managers for the construction team. I have to ensure that all the tasks performed are conducted in safe manner and in accordance with the company’s operating procedure guidelines.

Site Project ManagerFiji Airports Jul 2018 - Dec 2021Nausori Airport, FijiI was engaged by Fiji Airports on specific Project basis to carry out works on the Nausori International Airport Upgrade and Runway Extension Project with the project value of FJD64 million. I was engaged as a site based Project Manager.Some of my work responsibilities under Fiji Airports during this project was to review staging plans and program, review of weekly report issued by the contractor, review of Contractor Documentation and plans, participation in Quality Assurance Management, coordination and management of design documentation, Coordination and Management of Contractors and Suppliers and review monthly Progress Claims. Also I had provided support to the contractor on site, issue non-compliance notices, actively monitor and track the project program and update weekly. Monitor and inspection of works on daily basis, assess and report on the construction works carried out by the contractor and provide weekly report to Projects Director. Also liaising with the Airport Managers and stakeholders if any issues arise onsite. Reporting unsafe work methods and actions to the Contractor’s WH&S.Under GHD’s secondment role I had to review payment claim especially quantities and volumes of works completed, inspecting all areas of the work site and review workmanship and methodologies in line with Project requirements, issuing of written instruction to the contractor, producing of shift reports and contract meeting minutes.Engineers Representative to the Contract, April 2020 to January 2021Due to the impact of Covid 19 and cost saving initiative by Fiji Airports, I was given the opportunity to lead the team and manage the contractor with the Engineer. During this period I had to manage the contractor, review and submit monthly progress claims to Engineer for sign-off, issue Notice to the contractor, manage and supervise the runway overlay works and airport construction works, review contractor’s documents. -
Infrastructure Construction Monitor/EngineerPalladium: Make It Possible Jan 2017 - Aug 2018Flagstaff, Suva, FijiAccess to Quality Education Program managed by Palladium.The Access to Quality Education Program (AQEP) commenced in August 2011. It consists of a package of bilateral assistance worth up to AUD58 million to the Fiji Education Sector. AQEP is funded by the Government of Australia through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and is implemented by Palladium International (formely GRM International).I was engaged by AQEP as an Infrastructure Construction Monitor/Engineer for the Program infrastructure componet. In this role, my responsibility was to oversee services or building design engineers from moderate to major works; contribute to the timely and quality delivery of AQEP reconstruction efforts in response to TC Winston; interface with the school management committees to review satisfaction with the works; monitor policy compliance such as child safety, environment & quality plan and OHS; responsible for AQEP on-site monitoring works. Complete stakeholders report and report to the Infrastructure Team Leader. Monitor on weekly basis, assess and report on the construction works carried out by the contractor in Ra and Koro Island. I was also responsible for coordinating the WASH in Schools program implemented by AQEP in collaboration with Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT), this commenced in 2018. This approach was used by DFAT to implement WASH in schools program in Fiji. My role as Project Manager and Engineer for the WASH in schools was to scope, plan, budget and monitor that the program runs effectively and efficiently in reaching its objectives ad a whole complies with children’s health and hygiene -
