As the one-man marketing department at Metalux Molecular, I was responsible for the design & development of the company's Joomla-based site (www.metalux.com.sg). This was a time when I tinkered with website development on Joomla CMS. The second IT project I implemented was the installation, configuration and implementation of the open-source Sugar CRM Community edition into the web server. During my nearly 4 years at the family-run Esco Micro, a manufacturer and exporter of lab equipment (in particular biosafety cabinets & cleanroom equipment), I went from being the sole export marketing executive to the manager of what could be called an in-house creative department. During my gap year, I worked at the Soros Foundation (now Open Society Forum) in Mongolia, as a media and PR intern for 6 months. My job scope included interpretation and translation (English - Mongolian), media kit preparation, event marketing (preparation of promotional materials, contacting press editors for publicity etc). This is also where I first started tinkering with layout design on Adobe Pagemaker.
