Completing these projects involving both national and international partners required a strong team effort, and I’ve been fortunate to work with great people throughout my career specializing in business operations and technology applications.My core strategies for managing multiple concurrent projects have come from my experience working in diverse organizations with varying internal cultures and customer demands. The ability to remain flexible in my approach to project planning and resource allocation for each assignment has been key to optimizing IT processes while controlling overhead costs. As Manager of Information Systems with Siemens Airfield Solutions (now ADB Safegate), I led more than 20 projects annually, including implementation of 2 SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and 2 Customer Resource Management (CRM) systems. Within a 12-month period, installation of one SAP and one CRM were completed concurrently – on time and on budget. One of the things I am most proud of is the performance of the teams I’ve led. Assembling the right team, getting everyone working collaboratively towards the same goal, and delivering solutions – not excuses – is the key to achieving key performance indicators (KPIs). Further, looking out for team members and being certain their efforts are recognized (and compensated for) is essential to retaining >95% of IT talent for 16 years.
