Software Architect, Senior Software Programmer
CurrentWrote micro-services platform used to build the Electrfied Miata (see bbitnerblogs.com/e-miata). Using Raspberry Pi 4 for soft real time tasks (down to a few milliseconds) and Pico micro controllers and micropython for hard real time tasks, like monitoring vehicle speeds. Designed and implemented soft real time, multi-process, multi-machine framework on Raspberry Pi 4including publish/subscribe features using TCP sockets, to create cohesive solutions.Designed Rev Matching system using Embedded Pico with micropython and PIO assembly to allow adirect drive coupling but still shift properly with the original manual transmission.Wrote system playback tools to simulate running the car on a laptop.Coded SPI communication with A/D chip for throttle, designed custom throttle response curves usingnumpy’s polynomial curve solvers with better than a 20 ms response time. Wrote calibration tool forthrottle. Integrated speed sensor with sampling speed of 100Khz using Pico microcontroller and micropython.
