I am responsible for management of Vernay's R&D team which provides material recommendations, develops new elastomeric materials / technologies and material testing to support our manufacturing facilities in North America, Europe and Asia. Over the last three years I turned around a struggling lab and we added several new pieces of equipment plus a Lab.

I was responsible for providing strategic and tactical direction to our New Product Design, Tool Engineering, Process Engineering, Functional Testing and R&D departments. This included over 50 team members at 14 locations globally. Our team supported top line growth by working directly with customers and delivering operational excellence through process.

My team was responsible for developing new elastomeric materials while working with Sales and Engineering to grow new business. After an acquisition, I successfully closed the elastomer mixing facility by combining synergies within other internal mixing facilities. I managed the renovation of our materials lab and installation of new equipment.

I supervised our lab technicians and developed the foundation for our new R&D department. This included training, documenting test methods and purchasing new test equipment. I developed a new FKM elastomer which lead to over $20M of new business in the next ten years.

I built relationships with customers and suppliers that have helped me throughout my career. I provided quotes for new business include material recommendations, test data and cost estimates.
