After another successful tour he returned to Camp Pendleton and was accepted into the Marine Corps Warrent Officer Program. While assigned to the 1st Marine Regiment as their Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical (NBC) Warfare Officer. Because of his Special Ops background, he was additionally assigned to set up the Regimental Special Operations Small Craft/Boat Program. After his successful deployment and tour in Iraq and Kuwait during 'Desert Storm', he was assigned to Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Va. At Quantico, he was assigned as the Officer-in-Charge of the USMC Special Operations Research and Development Programs. He was at the forefront in the development of special operations equipment used by the Marine Corps during parachuting and underwater operations. I have kept in contact with Mr. Blumenthal through the years since my retirement from the Corps and I'm very proud of all his accomplishments during his recent assignments. I give this former Marine my highest recommendation."
