This Director Level role gives me responsibility for all aspects of DC Operations and Transportation in the organization’s highest volume and most complex supply chain facility/market. This DC and Market are enterprise pivotal and one-of-a-kind in our SC Network. The DC is 1.4M sqft and encompasses omni-channel distribution operations including next day eCom and contract Fulfillment from Virginia to Maine, Retail Store Replenishment, Direct Import, Returns, and Vendor Consolidation. The operation consists of 24/5 shifts with >300 Non-Exempt Team Members and >20 Exempt Leaders. Additionally, my Transportation responsibilities include >100 Non-Exempt Team Members, >10 Exempt Leaders, along with 3PL partners executing day to day operations in 38 final mile satellite locations. This structure allows us to provide next day service to >95% of the market spanning from Virginia to Maine.

The strategies I put into place earned our reputation as a flagship RDC with strategies emulated as best practice.HIGHLIGHTS: ➜ Reduced turnover 90% through Pay-for-Performance incentive plans, Tiered Accountability and Employee Suggestion programs, and monthly roundtables. ➜ Introduced leadership succession planning by establishing IDPs and on the job training to identify and upskill talent➜ Awarded management of a second Distribution Center – bypassing the traditional bidding process by exceeding customer expectations.➜ Increased productivity 25% and decreased labor costs by introducing a comprehensive slot program with a velocity coding scale that ensured high-velocity inventory placed at front of warehouse. ➜ Improved cycle count accuracy, reduced shrink, and achieved a negligible physical inventory variance versus $43.5M inventory value and 3.5M unit annual throughput.
