Began Black Hills Forestry as a forestry consulting business in 1978 and operated it full time for approximately two and half years. In June of 1981, I began my 37 year employment as a procurement forester for Pope and Talbot and Neiman Timber Co.. During this time I continued doing a limited amount of consulting work, mainly being an expert witness until I retired in June of 2018. At this time, I began to operate Black Hills Forestry as my sole employment but also being very active in the local forestry profession and activities. Own or partially own 2 tree farms and I am currently the president/chair of the South Dakota Family Forests Association.

Purchasing timber from private and non private timberland owners. Writing forest management plans. Advising Lawrence County on forestry related matters.
