Dr. Bill Courtright is a partner of Medical Telecommunications Associates, a strategic consulting group focused on revolutionizing the current healthcare system through working with early stage entrepreneurial companies to bring information technology solutions to the industry. Bill was formerly president of Health Technology Consultants, a consulting group that specializes in medical technology assessment and the integration of healthcare with the Internet. For many years he was also a member of the Medtronic Medical Director Advisory Panel that provided strategic management advice to the executives of this international medical device company. Previously, Bill served on the senior management team that designed and implemented Southern California Edison’s (SCE) nationally recognized comprehensive managed care program. During his tenure with SCE Health Care Department, his career path included Chief of Staff of the Health Care Department; Director, Medical Education and Research; Division Manager, Physician/Medical Services; and Chief Medical Officer. Following his undergraduate education at MIT, Bill attended Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, where he became active in medical informatics doing projects in the Department of Biometry. After receiving his medical degree, Bill became board-certified in internal medicine and served as chief resident at one of the University of Southern California (USC) teaching hospitals. He has also served as an assistant clinical professor of Medicine at USC. Bill has been an MIT visiting lecturer at the Whitaker College of Health Sciences and Technology, as well as the MIT Sloan School of Management.
